Young Manor
The Mountain View B&B

Policies, Terms & Conditions

We have tried our best to keep the fine print to a minimum, but the following terms are necessary for the benefit of everyone who stays at Young Manor. By making a booking with us, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions. Your accommodation includes en-suite facilities, usage of common areas, parking on the premises and breakfast as specified elsewhere on this website.

These are the most commonly referred to policies. Please take a few minutes to review them, and feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Holiday (3-day) Weekends

For holiday/3-day weekends, reservations for the Master Suite require a minimum 2-night stay. The North and South Guest Rooms are available for single night stays.

Room Rates

For regular guest bookings, room rates include double occupancy and a continental breakfast. Rates are quoted on this website per night, including tax. Reduced rates for multi-night bookings are available. See our Rates & Reservations page for details.

For special events, such as weddings, vow renewals, anniversary celebrations, etc., prices vary due to the nature of your personal event and the services required. These bookings should be discussed with Young Manor in order to determine a personalized quote for your weekend.

Reservations and gift certificates are non-transferable.

Check In/Check Out

We will be awaiting your arrival between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Arrangements for early or late arrivals should be made in advance with Young Manor.

Checkout time is at 11:00 a.m. Late checkout may be available if our housekeeping schedule allows, and must be arranged on the day of arrival or before.

Confirming a Reservation

Advance reservations are required and the Manor does not accept walk-in guests. Last minute reservations (less than 48 hours prior to arrival) should be made by phone only between the hours of 9am and 7pm.

A confirmed reservation for a one-night stay must be paid in full. A confirmed reservation for two or more nights requires a 50% deposit of the total stay. The balance of your stay is due upon check-in.

The preferred methods of payment to the Young Manor are by major credit card, gift certificate or cash. Only corporate checks will be accepted.

Cancellation Policy

Making a reservation at a bed and breakfast is not the same as making a hotel reservation. Due to our small size, cancellations affect us significantly. A last minute cancellation gives us little chance of re-booking a room. For this reason we uphold a strict cancellation policy:

  • Guests are responsible for payment of all nights reserved regardless of their actual arrival or departure date. No-shows are also responsible for full payment of their entire reservation.
  • Cancellation of (including changes to) a confirmed reservation must be made 7 or more days prior to your scheduled arrival to receive a refund. All cancellations are subject to a $10.00 administrative processing fee per room.
  • Cancellation of (including changes to) a confirmed reservation made 7 days or less prior to your scheduled arrival will only receive a refund if we can re-book the room to other guests. There are no exceptions to this policy including sickness, family emergencies, or weather related issues. Naturally, we will make every effort to re-rent the room and return your deposit.

30 Days Notice of Cancellation is Required for The Following Circumstances:

  • A group booking of the full Manor (3+ rooms).
  • A Special Event booking (we block all rooms and grounds during weekends where special events are occurring).
  • Major holiday reservations including the Valentine's Day holiday period, Good Friday through Easter Sunday, the July 4th holiday period, Labor Day weekend, Thanksgiving Eve thru the Saturday following Thanksgiving, and December 23rd through January 2nd.

Payment for rooms during special events are due in full 30 days prior to event dates.

Age Requirement

In order to make a reservation, the person booking (and ultimately responsible for the actions of their accompanying party) must be at least 25 years of age.

Breakfast Times

Your continental breakfast is available any time from 7:30-9:30 a.m. Our staff members are happy to accommodate earlier or later times if arranged in advance. You will select your food items the night before by filling out the request sheet on your door. Please let us know of any food allergies.

Smoking & Candle Burning

Smoking is not permitted within Young Manor. Smoking outside of the manor is permitted in designated areas only. Guests smoking in the manor will be charged a minimum $200 fee (and up) in order to return any rooms to a non-smoking status.

Visitors, Children and Pets at the Manor

We cater to the comfort, privacy and security of our registered guests. Should a registered guest wish to have visitors during their stay, prior approval must be obtained from the management of Young Manor. Visitors are NOT permitted on the premises without prior approval, no exceptions. For policies regarding visitors during special events, such as weddings, vow renewals, etc., please refer to the Special Events section below.

Young Manor is regarded as a quiet escape and romantic getaway for most of our guests, and we work hard to foster that environment. Therefore, it is not an appropriate place for children under 16.

We regret that we are not able to accommodate guest pets. Service animals are, by law, welcome. A service animal is a dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability. Dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the ADA. Service animals must be harnessed, leashed, or tethered. Damage caused by a service animal will incur a minimum $100 charge for repair/cleaning, up to the total amount required to restore the room to prior condition.

Special Events

Weddings, vow renewals, anniversary celebrations, reunions, photo shoots, etc. are considered Special Events for which a contract must be established with Young Manor. Events such as these require far more staff present and additional services that are not included in a typical room booking. We understand that event privacy is important for our guests, so we are very careful not to book guests unrelated to your event.

Visitor policies (as previously noted) are obviously lifted during Special Events.

If you are ONLY booking a room for your wedding night, and your wedding is being held elsewhere, please be advised that our guest rooms, common areas and grounds are for our registered guests only. Simply booking a reservation for a stay does not entitle a bride or groom, family and friends to use any guest room or any part of the Manor or grounds for bridal party wedding preparations and photographs without Young Manor's approval and a Special Event contract.

Because each event is unique, we will work with you to customize a package to meet your needs. Please contact Young Manor to schedule an appointment to view the grounds or to obtain further details regarding your special event.

Guest Property

Young Manor and its staff does not accept liability in respect of any loss or damage to articles brought into the guest house. We also cannot accept responsibility for your cars while parked on our premises. Your car is parked at your own risk.

Lost Property

Lost property is held for a period of 1 month. It is the responsibility of the guest to contact Young Manor’s management to claim lost property. On request, lost property will be returned COD.

Damages

While reasonable wear and tear is anticipated, negligent damages found to be the responsibility of a guest will be assessed and charged to the guest. Please report all spills to the management promptly.
